How to set up home automation with Amazon Alexa
This guide is designed for the Automation Switch Kit
There are two mains parts to getting started with home automation through amazon.
1. Device setup through the Smart Life app
2. Linking your Amazon account and configuring the Alexa app.
1. Download the Smart Life App
You can download the Smart Life app for iOS or Android.
2. Log in or register your account with your email address. Type in the verification code sent to your mailbox then set your login password.

3. Wiring and Pairing Mode
After the wiring of the Lighting Controller is complete and the switch modules have been installed - flick the switches on/off 5 times (not too fast) until the beeping sound is alternating on/off continuously. If this is the first time the unit has powered up it may already be beeping in this pairing mode and it is not necessary to flick switch on/off.
4. Add new device
Open the app, selecting "+" on the top right to add a new device. Choose "Lighting" then "Lighting (WiFi)".
5. WiFi connection
Make sure your smartphone and Lighting controller are within range of each other and in range of your home WiFi network. Enter your WiFi password - it will be passed to the Lighting Controller.
6. Device search
The connection will take anywhere from 10-120 seconds to complete depending on your network conditions. When pairing is done, the Lighting Controller will be shown on the app and should be operable. Your automation setup is complete, explore the "Smart" tab of the app to see what automation features are possible.

Download the Amazon Alexa app from the App Store if you don't already have it. Open the Alexa app and choose Skills & Games, then install the Smart Life Skill.
