Emergency Lights Installation and Testing in Queensland
When house lights lose power, emergency lighting turns on using a battery backed-up power supply. Emergency lights are installed along the path of travel and provide minimal lighting, but enough to guide the occupant along the progress path to the exits. They can be standalone units or built into the house lights. Emergency lights are installed to Australian Standard AS2293.1. Exit Lights Testing in Queensland
Exit & Emergency Lighting Tests should be carried out twice a year by an electrician. However, if a fault is identified at any time, during routine electrical building maintenance, it must be rectified immediately. When replacing faulty lamps and or fittings the exit signage must be checked that all is in working order upon completion. Batteries, battery chargers, inverters, distribution and control equipment and luminaries all need to be checked, along with a system operation and automatic discharge facility check.
